Sex therapy

Room to talk openly about sex, intimacy, and what you want.

Sexual concerns can be difficult to bring up, even with someone you trust. You can talk here about desire, discomfort, pleasure, uncertainty, and the parts you haven’t known how to explain.

Sex therapy is talk therapy. There is no physical contact or examination. You decide what you’re ready to discuss, and we work at a pace that makes room for that.

Concerns we can work on

  • Differences in desire, or changes in what you want
  • Pain during sex and its emotional or relationship impact, alongside medical care
  • Erectile or orgasm difficulties and anxiety around sex
  • Shame connected to religion, family, identity, or past experiences
  • Sex after trauma, at your pace
  • Sensory needs and the ways ADHD or autism can affect intimacy
  • Trust, communication, and sexual boundaries

What sessions can involve

We can explore when a concern shows up, what you notice in your body, what you expect of yourself, and how you talk about it with a partner. Together, we can identify what you want to feel or do differently.

In individual sessions, you can find language for desire, limits, and uncertainty, and prepare for conversations with a partner. You also have space to understand your own experience before deciding what to share.

Kink, non-monogamy, and LGBTQIA+ experiences

You can talk openly about kink, consensual non-monogamy, sexual orientation, and gender. We’ll focus on your concerns, your relationships, and what you want from your sex life.

There is room for pleasure, for uncertainty, and for a life in which sex has a different place than other people expect.

The body matters

Pain and changes in sexual function can involve physical as well as emotional factors. Therapy can support the emotional and relationship parts of care alongside medical evaluation or pelvic floor treatment.

If coordination with another clinician would be useful, we can discuss what you want shared and the permission needed before contact.

Training and fit

I’m a licensed professional counselor and a doctoral student in human sexuality at Widener University. I’m currently accepting individual clients only. The consult is a place to ask about my experience with your particular concern.
